Germany has been placed on the “amber list” of destinations following the lifting of the Government’s travel ban on May 17.

According to the new ‘traffic light’ system for holidays, which replaced blanket travel restrictions, anyone travelling to the UK from anywhere in Germany will have to take a pre-departure test. They will then have to quarantine for 10 days, with possible release on the fifth day with a paid-for “test to release”.

Frontline workers can now get cheaper holidays to Disneyland Paris, as well as Walt Disney World in Florida.

The deal will be available to Blue Light Card holders, thanks to a new partnership between the discount service and the Walt Disney Travel Company.

The UK Government has added more countries to its travel red list and taken Portugal off its green list.

With Covid still widespread in many countries, tourists will have to think carefully about their spending on holidays.

Where will I be able to go on holiday?

England has a limited number of green list destinations, where people can travel without having to quarantine on their return (although they will still have to take a Covid test before and after the trip).
